Discovery.
Share with us your hopes and dreams for the space you want to be designed. Meet with your designer for up to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the project. Prepare by gathering any inspirational images you have saved up to show your designer or by taking our style quiz.
First, you’ll get to know each other and talk through your wants and needs of your project. Afterward, she’ll sketch and measure your space as well as take some before photos so she can refer back to them during her design process. If you decide to go with a video call, she’ll walk you through measuring your space. If you decide to meet in person, she’ll do it for you (this is ideal).
Conceptualization.
Your designer will come up with 1-2 design options based on the Discovery meeting. These designs are preliminary in nature and are not yet set in stone.
To get to these 1-2 options, multiple renditions were already thought through, sketched out, and adjusted to fit the wants and needs discussed in previous conversations.
The existing architecture may help guide the plan, but the designer blends together a mixture of your budget, desires, and her years of design experience & education. The result is a combination that is sure to bring your vision to life.
Harmonization.
Meet with your designer for up to 3 hours via screen share video call for the harmonization meeting. She’ll present the 3D model of the design (or designs) she created to edit in real-time to help you visualize the space planning! You’ll go over the designs to make sure you’re both on the same page and land on a plan you love. The goal of this meeting is to have the big picture exactly how you want it.
Your designer will finalize your design and prepare for the selections meeting based on your feedback.
Selections.
Meet with your designer at a local showroom to pick out the products, materials, and colors for your project. She’ll have everything laid out that she recommends along with some alternates. We know these meetings can be overwhelming with all the options out there to choose from, so she’ll help narrow down your choices to select options that fit your needs. Once everything is selected, she’ll release you while she catalogs your choices.
Documentation.
If there are architectural changes for your project, you’ll need a set of construction documents. Your designer will get to work on the technical aspects of your project. She’ll create a noted floor plan, elevations, perspectives, and specifications. You’ll need these for when you hire a contractor and head to the permitting office. A digital copy will be provided to you once the design is finalized.
Execution.
Before you build your project, your designer will meet with you via video call for a plan review to discuss the details on how to proceed. She’ll also connect you with some resources that help move your project along.
Your designer will order your products for you for a small up-charge. Don’t worry, we’ll still pass on any deals if we get lucky. It will all either be delivered to you or held in a warehouse of your choice until it’s time to install.
Showcase.
Another amazing benefit to using Staydream Studio is that we can send a professional photographer to your completed project at a low rate to show off your new space when you agree to let us show off your project as well. This is a great option if you plan to rent out your space. Yes, we’re serious!
